Funeral Mass for Arnulfa Vega, 80 of Palestine will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Matias Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mrs. Vega died Friday morning April 14, 2017 at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born May 14, 1936 in Lagunillas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Porfirio Estrada and Julia Castillo Estrada. She was a homemaker dedicated to her family and grandkids. She enjoyed spending her time sitting on the porch eating Cheetos and drinking coke. Mrs. Vega liked to keep her nails freshly painted and her favorite color was dark red. Her favorite shoes were nike, if she didn't have them she wasn't wearing them.
Arnulfa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alejandro Vega, children, Martina, Dora, and Faustino Vega, siblings, Seferino, Pablo, Felipe, Evaristo, Luz Estrada and Micaela Galvan, and grandson, Jason Villanueva. She is survived by siblings, Alberto Estrada, Catalina Perez, and Ofelia Muniz, children, Gorgonio Ordonez, Dionicio Vega, Pedro Vega, Jose G. Vega, Santos Vega, Francisca Villanueva, Ramona Salinas and Virginia Vega, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren Jaime VegaAlejandro Vega, Jose M. Villanueva, Enrique Vega, Franco Salinar, and Miguel Vega.
A rosary will be held Monday April 17, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Chapel. Visitation will follow from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM.
