Funeral services for Carol Jean Potter Lively, 83 of Palestine, will be held 4:30 PM Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Walter Pickens and Rev. Max Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Chambers-Day Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lively passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Tyler. She was born August 2, 1934 in Palestine, to William C. Potter and Aline Pope Potter. She retired from TDCJ, and was a carrier for the Palestine Herald Press for many years.
Carol Lively was preceded in death by her husband Elvis Lively, children; Duane Lively, Glenn Lively, and Betty Nordstrom, parents WC and Aline Potter, brother Raymond Potter and great grandson Charles Norris. She is survived by sisters; Martha Huffstutler, Faye Pike and husband Butch Pike, and Mary Goff, step-children; Thelma Griffin, Shirley Porter, Raymond Lively, daughter-in-law Connie Lively, grandchildren; John Lively and wife Candis, Corey Lively and wife Yvonne, Chris Lively and wife Lindsey, Lynn Vaughan and wife Crystal, Stephanie Norris and husband Charles, Amber Cox and husband Larry, twenty-two great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony Maldonado, Devin Gray, Gage Lively, Billy Peeler, Butch Pike and Austin Shuptrine. Honorary pallbearers will be her younger great-grandsons.
Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
