Carrie Beth Vannatta 75, of Clovis, NM, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 5, 2017 at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with Wayne Baker officiating. A graveside service will be held in Oakwood, Texas on Saturday January 7, 2017, at 10:00 am CST.
Carrie Beth was born November 10, 1941 in Gause, TX, to Robert Allan Jones and Laurie Elizabeth Hardwood Jones. She married Leslie L. Vannatta August 12, 1959 in Oakwood, TX. She was the owner of Rusty Sun Eatery. Carrie Beth was a former member of the Board of Directors for the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico. She enjoyed painting, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include: her daughter; Jo Beth Vannatta of Andrews, TX, two sons; Tom Vannatta (Samantha Kemp) of Phoenix, AZ, and Charles (Kay) Vannatta of Clovis, NM, one sister; Bonnie Vandeweghe of Mexia, TX, one brother; Jimmy Stubbs of Bryan, TX, one brother-in-law; Mac E. Vannatta of Houston, TX, four grandchildren; Bryan Vannatta, Lesie Jo Hartle, Shelby Vannatta, and Lexi Walton, five great-grandchildren; Kayden, Aydan, Rio, Dalton, and Braxton, and her best friend for over 30 years; Carol Hagelgantz. She was preceded in death by her husband; Leslie Vannatta, and parents.
