Clara's Story

Clara Jean Young, age 76, of Midland, Texas has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 29th 2017.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Pastor Dean Cook of Grace Bible Fellowship will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, November 3, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. There will be no burial service.
Clara, her first name, which for some reason she did not like to be called, so, Jean was born in Neches, TX on February 20th 1941. She graduated from Clements High School and continued on to receive an Associate's Degree from Tyler Junior College.
Jean was married to Dial Ray Young, Sr. and they were married for almost 40 yrs.
Jean worked for several different companies that provided caregiving service for a number of years, with her last employment with Dr. Millard Kimery for 15 yrs. Jean enjoyed reading her bible, some travel and spending time with her family especially her granddaughter. She had also been actively involved with several small churches when she was able to go.
Jean has also been a breast cancer survivor since 1988. Jean lived her life according to what God wanted for her and followed His direction.
Jean is survived by her two sons and their wives both of Midland, TX Dial (Ray-Ray) Young, Jr & Michelle Young, Andre' (Dre') Young & Kym Young, the granddaughter Desiree' Young of Midland, TX, sisters Hellen Martin of Midland, Bettie Lockridge of Levelland, TX and Ann Williams of Neches, TX and host of other family and friends.
Jean is preceded in death by her mom Bernice Williams of Neches, TX her dad Frank Mayfield, step dad L.T. Williams of Neches, TX, her brother John Williams, her sister Alice Faye Golightly, along with many others that have welcomed her home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to National Breast Cancer Foundation. The Young family also wishes to thank Midland Memorial Hospital especially those that were involved in our mother's care, CCU Dr. Ali Kahn, who honored our mother's wishes of providing every possible treatment for her care while there and the CCU nurses Regina, Christina, Nora and Jennifer, who answered all of our questions and was very patient and understanding. They provided a level of care beyond all of our expectations and for that we are truly grateful.
