David's Story

Memorial services for David L. Conaway, 62 of Palestine, will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 7, 2017, at Broyles Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Lumpkins and Rev. Jack Hall officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted and provided by Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Conaway passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Hospice of East Texas, Tyler. He was born April 21, 1955 in Palestine, Texas to Robert Lee Conaway and Lucy Perkins Conaway. He was a retired TDCJ Correctional Officer, with 12 years of service. He loved hunting and fishing, mechanics and welding most of all he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, brothers, sisters and family.
Mr. Conaway was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucy Conaway, grandparents; John Jackson and Para Lee Perkins, Richard and Cora Conaway, and a brother Clarence Conaway. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Wanda Conaway, daughters; Destinie Richter, Deirdra and husband Greg Gammons, Carrie and husband Chris Frizzell, and Cassie and husband Kevin Holifield, sons; Robert (Rob) and wife Rachel Conaway, Chris Carter, Ronnie and wife Hannah Conaway, sisters; June Clackley, Linda Pickrell, Judy Martin, Ruth Jenkins, Brenda Moore, Bobby Hilton, Shirley Vanhouse, Susan Rodgers, and Laverne Harding, brothers; Donald Conaway, Ernest Conaway, Billy Conaway, and Robert Dwayne Conaway, grandchildren; Gage and Cash Conaway, Bryson Carter, Ethan Conaway, Tristen and Alayna Richter, Braden Carter-Zenn, Kaitlyn and Zachary Gammons, Cody and Cameron Lenman, Rustin Frizzell, K'lynn and Kinsley Holifield.
Any food donations can be dropped off at Broyles Chapel Church, 130 CR 425, Palestine, Texas, Friday, July 7, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either the Pancreatic Cancer Research or Hospice of East Texas.
