Services for Dorthy Elouise McCann Ryan age 80 of Palestine will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Wesley Veazey officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to and provided by Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Dorothy Elouise McCann Ryan was born on December 21, 1936 in Palestine, Texas to James Arnold McCann and Ruby Lee Ives McCann.  She went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2017.  She had been a resident of Cartmell Home for the last several years.  She was a member of Memory Lane Missionary Baptist Church.
Elouise retired from Kroger's after working many years in the grocery business with both Kroger's and Safeway.  She had a love for life and fun like no other.  Most of all she loved her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed.  She touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Arnold McCann and Ruby McCann; previous husbands Jack McCafferty and James E. "Gene" Ryan; siblings Edward McCann, Ernest McCann, Winfred McCann, Bobby McCann, Richard McCann, and Carolyn Thompson Brinkman; and by her step-daughter-in-law Carol Ryan.
She is survived by daughter Mary Lisa Cariker, husband Heath Cariker, and her pride and joy - granddaughter Hannah Elizabeth Cariker.  She is also survived by step-son James "Jim" Ryan and children Jessica Wilhite and Michelle Fritze; step-grandson Chris Hill; step-daughter Cathy Cherry, husband Cliff, son Doug; step-daughter Renee Fisher, husband Rickey, daughters Dasha Moore-Wright and Lindsey Ramirez; several step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Donald Ray McCann, wife Thelma, Glen McCann, wife Lu, her sister Earlene Newsom and her husband Bill, sisters, Juanita Cordell, Pat Overton husband Andrew.  She is survived by sisters-in-law Barbara McCann, Bessie McCann, Betty McCann, and Marnett McCann.  She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and good friends whom she loved so much. She was an exceptional mother, sister, aunt, friend, and most of all grandmother to her beloved Hannah.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, 207 S. Magnolia, Palestine, TX. 75801.
