Dr. Verna's Story
Dr. Verna Martin Hopper passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. She was born in Palestine on January 2, 1928, to Claude Marion Martin and Iva Mae Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Hopper; her son, Alvis Velton Tucker.
Verna graduated from Texas Women's University and taught at Trinity Valley Community College and Texas College in Tyler. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Athens. She was an avid reader and talented quilter. She will be remembered for her love for her family and devotion to the Lord.
Survivors include, her daughters, Sandra Moulton, Theresa Boles and husband John; grandchildren, Tina Stauffer and husband Jack, Tami Hendrickson and husband Dennis of Idaho. Cassandre Newsom and husband Brian of Florida, Kole Moulton and wife Rachel of Idaho; great-grandchildren, Tristan Thompson, Racheal Varnes and Jesse Stauffer, Tyler Tucker, Sherill Tucker, Jordyn Tucker, Kara Moulton, Katlyn Moulton, Audrey Moulton.
Visitation will be held on February 2, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00PM at Neches Cemetery. Arrangements by Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
