Eddie Gerald Lively, age 79, of Desoto, Texas, a faithful Christian, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, the 21st day of January, 2018. Mr. Lively was born on the 9th day of August, 1938 in Percilla, Texas to Carlton Lively and Cornelia Goff Lively. Eddie served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a graduate of East Texas State University. He began his career with Lone Star Gas, serving in various management and accounting positions for 39 years before retiring in 2000. Eddie loved the outdoors, particularly walking and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers Fan. He was dedicated to his family, especially his grandsons who brought him great joy. Eddie will be missed by all who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Cornelia Lively; sisters, Eva Gene Wilmeth and Dorothy Smith and brother, James Lively.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Hogan Lively of Desoto; daughter, Sharon Lively Sheridan and husband Daniel of Midlothian; sister, Violet Tucker of Palestine; grandchildren, Patrick Sheridan and wife Shelby, Matthew Sheridan and wife Ashlea, Nathan Sheridan; great grandchild, Walter Sheridan.
Funeral services for Eddie Gerald Lively will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on the 25th day of January, 2018 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Jamie Hogan officiating. Interment to follow at Ferguson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at Rhone Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Patrick Sheridan, Matthew Sheridan, Nathan Sheridan, Barrett Stevens, Randy Hogan and Matt Giffrow. Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eddie Lively's memory can be directed toward Ferguson Cemetery Fund at Citizens National Bank, PO Drawer 770, Palestine, Texas 75802.
