Eladia Castillo Estrada


Eladia Castillo Estrada, 77, returned to her heavenly home on June 14, 2019 at UT Health in Tyler, Texas after a long struggle with congestive heart failure. Eladia was born on February 18, 1942 in Lagunillas, Villa Hidalgo, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Simona Vargas and Ambrosio Castillo. She relocated with her family to Palestine, Texas in 1978. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family especially her grandchildren. She loved gardening and enjoyed spending time enjoying her flowers. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alberto Estrada; her children Gloria Esparza (Aristeo), Alfredo Estrada (Juana), Carlos Valladares (Martha), Fernando Estrada Sr (Maria), Guadalupe Zavala (Luis), Grace Mancilla (Antonio), Noemi Estrada, Julia Estrada; Siblings Celestina Castillo, Eulalia Castillo, and Matilde Castillo Galvan all of Lagunillas, SLP Mexico; Francisco Castillo, Margarito Castillo, Maria Concepcion Castillo, and Eva Castillo all of California; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lorenza Castillo, grandsons Michael Estrada and Fernando Estrada Jr., son Martin Estrada and daughter SanJuana Estrada who she loved dearly. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Juan Esparza, Jorge Esparza, Alfredo Estrada Jr., Jesus Alberto Estrada, Joe Alexis Estrada, Luis Alberto Zavala, Antonio Gianni Mancilla, and Derek Valladares.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm Tuesday, June 18th, at Herrington/ Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Victor Hamon officiating followed by visitation from 6:30-8pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Victor Hamon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/ Land of Memory Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of UT Health; Dr. Larry Burch, her family doctor of many years; Dr. Hector and Dr. Torres at Cardiovascular Consultants of Tyler; the nurses and staff of Dr. Dalal of Texas Oncology; and the doctors of Centers for Kidney Care in Tyler. Our mother had a great medical team that kept her as healthy as possible for the many wonderful years she was here with us.
