Services for Elsie Beasley McGee, 91 of Montalba will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Montalba Christian Church with Rev. Eric Higginbotham and Rev. Charles Grasty officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery in Montalba, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. McGee passed away on January 31, 2017 at Cartmell Home for Aged in Palestine, Texas. She was a Montalba resident her entire life. Elsie attended and graduated from Montalba Schools. She married Speegle McGee February 23, 1946. They had four children, Rodney McGee of Montalba, Pam McGee Strange of Montalba, Garry McGee of Lubbock, Texas and Phillip McGee of Grapeland, Texas. She had five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Her parents were Ernest and Mollie Beasley of Montalba.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Mollie Beasley, her husband Speegle McGee, and her brother Leland Beasley and wife Sara of Palestine.
Elsie enjoyed many interest and hobbies in her lifetime such as fishing, working in her yard, sewing and embroidery. She was a member of the Montalba Christian Church.
The family extends their thanks to the many caregivers at Cartmell Home for Aged especially Angela, Mel, Tina, and Steve. And our special thanks to Lola Nevitt and Sherry McGee who have helped care for Elsie for months. A special thank you to all the Heart to Heart Hospice caregivers.
Pallbearers will be Chris Nevitt, Bill Turinsky, Mike Brown, and Steve Schmuker. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon McGee, Charlie McGee, Blake McGee, and Bill Mathis.
