Services for Frances Wardell Lanier age 82, of Palestine will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Ron Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Lanier died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1934 in Bois D'Arc, Texas to Earl Tom and Maggie Beatrice Brown Wardell. Mrs. Lanier was a teacher and taught school for 33 years at Palestine Independent School District. She married Charles Floyd Lanier on May 15, 1951.
Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Floyd Lanier. She is survived by her children Carol Pendland, Charla Cox, and Carl Lanier and wife Karen all of Palestine and Charles Lanier and wife Sheila of Sealy, grandchildren, Felicia Higginbotham and husband Eric of Montalba, Josh Pendland, Becky Garcia and husband Joel, and Charles Cox and wife Amanda of Palestine, Charles Lanier and wife Jessi of Nacogdoches, Callie Sisk and husband William of Belton, MO., Cori Lanier of Palestine, Chad Cox of Marshall, and Christopher Lanier of Katy, great grandchildren, Isabel, J.J., and Ian Garcia of Palestine, Isaac and Daniel Delgado of Montalba, Hannah and Lucas Lanier of Nacogdoches, and Samantha, Annabelle and Sophia Sisk of Belton, MO., a brother Tommy Wardell and wife Mary Lou of Palestine, sister Charlotte Jensen and husband Gary of Spring, a sister-in-law Carolyn Lanier of Spring and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, brother-in-law Gary Jensen, and nephew Britt Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Tom Wardell, Tim Wardell, and Mark Lanier.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
