Grady A. Henry


Services for Grady A. Henry age 68 of Blackfoot Community will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Horine officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Church Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Henry passed away Saturday, July 06, 2019 at UT Health Center in Athens. He was born April 3, 1951 in Palestine, Texas to W.E. Henry, Jr. and Essie Thornton Henry. Mr. Henry was retired from Missouri Pacific / Union Pacific Railroad after 38 years of service in the car shop. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, he served on the board for BCY Water Supply Corporation for 32 years, Cayuga School Board for 13 years, and was a founding member and Fire Chief for the Tennessee Colony Fire Department. He enjoyed working with his cattle and on his ranch. Mr. Henry also served in the National Guard.
Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his father, W.E. Henry, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Woolverton Henry, his mother Essie Thornton Henry both of Blackfoot Community, a daughter Keri Jackson Glasgow and husband Glenn of Malakoff, a son Bradley A. Henry of Blackfoot Community, a sister Kay Henry Steel and husband David of Tyler, four grandchildren, Brady Henry, Jackson Glasgow, Victoria Glasgow, and Caleb Henry and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Thornton, Darrell Henry, David Henry, James Henry, Johnathan Deckard, and Jackie Kimbrough.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Rock Church Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 106, Montalba, Texas 75853.
