Hannah's Story

Hannah D. Ray left her earthly world on December 24, 2017. Born at home in Oakmont, PA to Emma Ruth Blystone Dawson and Charles W. Dawson on June 22, 1931. Hannah was one of the first residents at Windermere, formerly living in Massachusetts. She graduated a registered nurse from St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was an avid gardener and excellent seamstress. She loved all animals, especially her two Siamese cats, Ting and Ling.
Preceded in death by her parents, first husband John R. Shillinglaw and second husband Robert M. Ray. Hannah is survived by her daughters Joan R. Strominger and husband Ron and Diane M. Herman and husband John. Three grandchildren Katie Tubbs (Brian), Mary Strominger-Raum (Shane), and David R. Herman. Four great-grandchildren Laynie & Greyson Tubbs and Eden & Lennox Raum.
A celebration of life service will be held at St. Philips Episcopal Church in Palestine on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1pm. Family will receive visitation in the Parish Hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Philips Episcopal Church or BARC Humane Society.
