Graveside services for Helen Fannin "Aunt Monkey", 85 of Elkhart, will be held 10:00 AM Sunday, July 14, 2019 in Pilgrim Cemetery, with Roger Pate and David Pate officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fannin passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019, at David E. Foster Hospice Unit/PRMC. She was born August 28, 1933 in Louise, Texas to Nihle Platt Cross and Haskell Farrar Cross. She was a meat inspector for USDA.
Mrs. Fannin was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nolan Fannin, JR., son Nolan P. Fannin, and sister Mildred C. Blair. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Socha, James Jurries Eddie Bentley, Ronnie Steadman, Bill McFarland, and Zack McFarland. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Rea and Members of Senior Friends of Palestine Regional Hospital.
Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be sent to American Heart Association or the charity of choice.

I met Helen at Senior Friends Exercise Class. She was the mother figure of our class. Caring for each & every one of us.
She was a sweet & gentle soul & we will definitely miss her. Our hearts & prayers are extended to her family at this difficult time.
