Jacquelyn Hubbard Smiley, 73, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2018. Jacquelyn was a resident of Palestine for many years, teaching Special Education at Neches and Westwood, and serving as an Educational Diagnostician at Palestine ISD until her retirement in 2001. Jacquelyn lived in Tyler during her retirement years. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Green Acres Baptist Church and traveling to New York, Hawaii and Alaska.
Jacquelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Elsie Hubbard, husband Doyle Smiley and daughter-in-law Susan Smiley. She is survived by her son Randy Smiley, daughter-in-law Jennifer Smiley and grandchildren Noah, Molly and Josh Helms.
A memorial service for her will be held at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler on Saturday, April 14 at 2 PM. There will be a private graveside gathering the following day, April 15 at 2 PM, at Roselawn Park Cemetery in Palestine, TX.
