Jeanetta Gay Farmer, age 72, of Palestine passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. She was born on November 19, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas to Howard M. Cowell and Vera Sons Cowell.
Jeanetta and her husband Donald W. Farmer moved to Palestine from Garland in 2004 to be closer to their family. She was a nurse who took her work very seriously. She was a very generous and amazing caretaker who really enjoyed working with the elderly. She was a member of Broyles Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Anthony Dale Barber; brother, Tracy Cowell; and sister, Janie Snider.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Farmer; daughters, Misti Barber and Kathi Rogers and husband Lance; brothers, James Cowell and Travis Bo Cowell; sisters, Shirley Henderson and Pat Warner; grandchildren, Zachry Barber, Natali Barber, and Jaydon Rogers; and great grandchildren, Kiyan Barber and Hadeon Ferretti Shevchenko.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Friendship Baptist Church, 7220 FM 860, Montalba, Texas 75853 with Pastor Lance Rogers officiating.
