Jeanette's Story

Text size

Our beloved mother, Jeanette C. DuPuy, met her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2017. In recent weeks, she had recurring dreams of Jesus, who was near but face unseen, tenderly carrying a sheep in His arms. On an early spring morning, Jesus unveiled His face, carrying her from this life into the presence of the Kings of Kings. She is in perfect peace, whole in body, and praising God for all eternity.

Born and raised in Palestine, Jeanette held close many life-long relationships. She spoke of her aunts and uncles along with 8 cousins, all whom she adored. Jeanette recalled weekends with both family and friends at their lakehouse on Red Lake, decades of schoolmate reunions, and the stunning trips between Oklahoma and Texas when the Bluebonnets would blanket the sides of the highways. Though she and husband Donald Richard (Dick) DuPuy cherished 50 years in Tulsa, OK, Texas still felt like home.

Foremost in Jeanette's life was her relationship with Jesus Christ. Passing along a faith-rich legacy, she was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. We look forward to a glorious reunion once again in eternity.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald Richard DuPuy, parents O.B. and Jessie M. Campbell, and brother Donald Mack Campbell. Her blessed children include daughter Gina Pitts and husband Greg; son Steve DuPuy and wife Natalie; daughter Donna Baker and husband Bill; and daughter Diane Burks and husband Steve. Treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren include Jeremy Simons and wife Whitney with sons Evan, Josiah and Colin; Josh Simons and son Colton; Lindsey Crelia and husband Colby with son Wilder; and Braden and Jordan Burks. Also dear to her were nephews Roy Dean, Jason, and Scott Campbell and Rick DuPuy, along with nieces Terri DuPuy and Shelley Campbell.

A memorial service will be held at Tulsa Bible Church on Friday, April 21st at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Tulsa Bible Church or to another Christian ministry especially meaningful to your family.
