Jerry Ray (Gunsmoke) Rhone, 69, of Palestine, Texas passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at his home. Services are scheduled for 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel. Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mr. Rhone was born on February 15, 1948 in Palestine, Texas to J. L. Rhone and Billie Rae Rhone (Barnhart). He had lived in Anderson County his entire life and was a Christian. He was a veteran and served in the U. S. Navy. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad with a lifelong Safety Award. He was also a Gunsmith and Ham Radio Operator and loved to hunt, fish, and work on cars. Mr. Rhone was preceded in death by his father, J. L. Rhone and his mother, Billie Rae Barnhart.
Survivors include his wife, Erin Graser Rhone; son, Shane Rhone and wife Regina and son, Larry Rhone; step-son, Jason Owens and wife Erika; and grandchildren, Madison Rhone, Brantley Rhone, and Kayla Morris.
