Memorial services for Jimmy Branum age 64 of Tennessee Colony will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Tennessee Colony Baptist Church with Rev. Budd Howard officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to and provided by Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Branum passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 21, 1953 in Dallas, TX. to Bill and Eugenia McGlaughn Branum. He was a member of the Tennessee Colony Baptist Church and Lake Dallas Volunteer Fire Department. He was employed with TDCJ as a correctional officer. He enjoyed his family, church, hunting and fishing. Jimmy loved laughing and making others laugh and blowing up things with tannerite. Jimmy worked tirelessly on getting the new building at Tennessee Colony Church completed. His final request was to be cremated and have his ashes spread in the Gulf of Mexico from a helicopter.
Mr. Branum was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Karen Parks. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Connie Branum of Tennessee Colony, daughters, Jennifer Keen and husband Shawn of Aubrey, TX. and Katy Argote and husband Lorenzo of Houston, TX., sons, Jason Branum of Tyler, TX., Thomas Thurston and wife Kelly of Overton, TX., Cody Tyler Branum of Tennessee Colony, and thirteen grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Hill, Thomas Thurston, Jason Branum, Trayce Howard, Jim Ritchie, Jerry Wilson, Wayne Whitten, Todd Winkle, and Bud Carter.
A visitation will be held an hour before the service at the church.
The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Tennessee Colony Church Building fund.
