Jimmy Morgan Lester, 69, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Tyler. He was born August 27, 1947 in Palestine. Jimmy graduated from Palestine High School in 1966, attended Henderson County Jr. College and served in the United States Navy from 1969-1972. He made is home in Houston, where he owned Fort Bend Security and Locksmith Services.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lester of Dequincy, Louisiana; grandchildren, Ry'ane, Cody, Neena and Bella; two great-grandchildren, Keirstin and Jenna; sister Mary Ann Turner of Seabrook; brother, Ben Lester and wife Marsha of Tyler; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many amazing friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, N.A. and Edith Lester of Palestine, sister, Gay Turner and husband Robert Turner of Georgetown, and brother-in-law, John Turner of Seabrook.
A special thank you to Watkins-Logan Veteran Home and Compass Hospice, both in Tyler for their loving care and support.
A memorial service, in his honor, will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Museum for East Texas Culture, 400 Micheaux Ave, Palestine, Texas.
