Jody Dwain Johnson, 59, of Palestine passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at TruCare Living Centers of Palestine.
Memorial Mass Services are scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jonathon Frels officiating. Condolences will be received from 9:30-10:30 am Saturday prior to the funeral service at the church.
Jody was born on June 26, 1958 in Fort Benning, Georgia to Bobby D. and Molly Ford Johnson. He had lived in the Palestine area most of his life and was a graduate of Westwood High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed gardening and had an amazing rose garden Jody was a Sci-Fi fanatic and loved the Star Trek series. He was a member of the 12th Texas Confederate Reenactment Group and loved guns and reloading ammo. He was well read, loving history and knowing all about the World War II era. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Johnson and his brother, Christopher Dwain Johnson.
Jody is survived by his mother, Molly Johnson; wife, Stacy Johnson; son, Christopher Dwain Johnson; daughters, Racheal Shirey and husband Dustin, Mollie Johnson-Henson and husband Charlie; sister, Cheryl Rice and husband Don; grandchildren- Sarah Shirey, Gavin Shirey, Zak Johnson, Jasper Henson, and Allie Rose Henson; nephew, Trey Price; nieces, Lacey Price and Devyn Rice; and great nephew, Joseph Childress.
