Funeral services for Lawrence M. Faulkner, 84 of Palestine, will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Memory Lane Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Wesley F. Veasey officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Faulkner passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, in Tyler. He was born May 15, 1932 in Hillsboro, to Jessie Faulkner and Ina Erwin Faulkner. He graduated Hillsboro High School in 1949, served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety, where he served as a Trooper from 1958 until 1984, working in San Antonio, Waco, Wichita Falls and Palestine. He also owned and operated Faulkner Furniture from 1967 to 2009. He was a member of Memory Lane Missionary Baptist Church where he served as assistant choir director, and on various church committees.
Mr. Faulkner was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Billie Jean Faulkner. He is survived by his two sons Rickey Faulkner and wife Vicki, Ronnie Faulkner, and their mother Conita Faulkner, and daughter Darla Cook and husband Lamar, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Memory Lane Missionary Baptist Church.
Condolence calls will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, November 25, 2016, at Bailey & Foster.
In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Memory Lane Missionary Baptist Church or the Texas Department of Public Safety Officer's Association Foundation.
