Linda Marilyn Kolander

September 07, 1934 - November 20, 2018

Linda Marilyn Kolander Marilyn Lomax was born September 7, 1934 in Waxahachie, Texas to John and Louise Lomax. She was the middle child with an older sister, Dorothy and a younger brother, John Bill. Around the age of four, Marilyn realized most people she knew had middle names, so she told family and friends to start calling her Linda.
Linda Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, William Kolander, on April 21, 1955 and together they enjoyed over 63 years of marital bliss. The couple had two sons, William Eric, born 1961, and John Douglas, born 1964. They also have three grand-daughters: Kristi, Stacy and Kennedy.
Linda Marilyn Kolander worked for the IRS in the personnel department as a supervisor for over 20 years, retiring in 1994.
Linda Marilyn played the clarinet in high school while also being a surprisingly good basketball player. But she was most accomplished at playing the piano, which she did at a concert pianist level.
She deeply loved her husband and sons and relished is spoiling her grand-daughters. She also enjoyed shopping which she often did with her daughter-in-law, Ann.
Linda Marilyn Kolander was loved dearly by family and friends who will now miss her deeply. They all look forward to reuniting with her in heaven.
Her memorial service will be held at the Palestine First United Methodist Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, December the 15th.
