Lula Mae Prejean Doolittle, age 88, of Palestine, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, the 5th day of December, 2017 at Cartmell Home. She was born on the 22nd day of April, 1929 in Iola, Louisiana to John Sevan Prejean and Elmire Richard Prejean. Mrs. Doolittle was a member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ. She was a faithful servant of the Lord her entire life. Mrs. Doolittle will be missed by many.
Lula Doolittle is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elmire Prejean; husband, Walter O. Doolittle; friend, Harry Schmidt; brothers, Ernest Prejean, Ennis Prejean, Hilton Prejean, Alfred Prejean and Julius Prejean.
Mrs. Doolittle is survived by brothers, Jules Prejean, Gabriel Prejean; sister, Bernadine Savoy; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family, Cris and Sheryl Campise, Matthew Campise, Jordan Campise and Rachel Campise, Cathy Feaster, Beth Hughes, Dobby and Debra Schmidt, Debbie and Eddie Dancer, Camille and Hugo Privitt, John Thurmond and Elizabeth Thurmond Monroe.
Friends are cordially invited for a visitation with the family from one o'clock until two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 10th day of December in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
The funeral service will be conducted following the visitation at two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 10th day of December, 2017 also in the Rhone Memorial Chapel. Dan Manuel will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Palestine, Texas.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Cris Campise, Jordan Campise, Dobby Schmidt, David Sparks, Henry Baker and Dwight Franklin.
