Macario J. Guajardo, age 57, of Palestine passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at his residence. Rosary services for Macario will be recited at 10am on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Chapel with visitation following from 10:30am to 12noon. Funeral mass services are scheduled for 2pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Rajaian Mathias officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Macario was born on March 28, 1960, in Kingsville, Texas to Concepcion and Petra Guajardo. He was the youngest of 6 siblings. He was a graduate of Riviera High School. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a true "Cowboy" and worked on farms and ranches and training horses until moving to Palestine where he worked for the Glass Plant and Parker Electric. He then began working for Walmart Warehouse in Palestine and later moved to the Baytown area as a Supervisor until his retirement in December 2014 when he returned back to Palestine.
Macario was survived by his sisters, Magdalena (Mollie) Rodriguez and spouse C.X. of Palestine; Lupita Chacon and husband Alvino of Kingsville, and Genoveva Guajardo of Kingsville.
Pallbearers will be Derik Rodriguez, Erik Rodriguez, Noel Chacon, Robert Brown, Jordan Brown, and Jakob Brown.
