Margie Ruth Smith Margie "Rusti" Ruth Smith passed from this life into eternity on October 12, 2018 in Tyler, Tx. She was born on May 2, 1946 in Athens, Tx to Carl and Dorothy Smith. She was raised in Malakoff, Tx and graduated from Malakoff High school in 1964.Margie married the love of her life, Larry Smith in 1968. Larry was an active member of the US Marine Corp. They were stationed all over the United States and loved making memories travelling together. They shared a passion for fishing and enjoyed fishing tournaments. Rusty and Larry raised their children Rodney and Lacey in Irving, Tx where Margie was a Sales Executive for DARR Equipment and later became an interior designer. After the unexpected death of her husband, Margie relocated to Palestine, Tx where she has been employed at Flowers by Pat since 2008 as a floral designer. 
Margie enjoyed living life to the fullest. She loved her family and trusted her future to Christ. Her laughter was contagious, and her love was larger than life. Margie was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Dorothy, Husband Larry and sisters Shirley and Melinda. Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of those she has left behind including sister Fayrene and brother Carl, son Rodney, daughter Lacey (Zolon III), and grandchildren Dexter, Zoe (Colton), Zolon IV, and Jax and great grandchildren Sophia, Jameson and Landon; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved dog Lucy.
A memorial service for Margie will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Bailey and Foster Chapel with David English officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
