Marshall's Story

Marshall Hodges, age 83, of Palestine, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, the 12th day of February, 2018. Mr. Hodges was born on the 6th day of May, 1934 in Anderson County to Talmage Hodges and Bertha Denson Hodges. Mr. Hodges was the owner of Hodges Packing Company for over twenty years until his retirement. He was a rancher and enjoyed bird hunting. He was a talented man who loved to build things. Mr. Hodges was a Christian and member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by Algerita Joy Hodges and his parents, Talmage and Bertha Hodges; sisters, Hellen Smith, Veda McNabb; brothers, D.T. Hodges Jr. and Joe Hodges.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his daughters, Senette Nelms and husband Larry of Palestine, Texas, Janette Cooper and husband Jerry of Palestine, Texas, Winnelle Domulot of Pensacola, Florida; son, Carl Winfred Hodges and wife Carole of Bullard, Texas; sisters, Ronette Hodges, Willene Klimple; brother, Ronald Hodges; grandchildren, Leslie Nelms, Wade Nelms, Gerald Cooper, Claire Doucet, Taylor Hodges, Wesley Hodges, Brittany Domulot; 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services for Marshall Hodges will be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 17th day of February, 2018 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Park. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family one hour prior to the funeral service at Rhone Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Wade Nelms, Gerald Cooper, Taylor Hodges, Wesley Hodges, Slade Doucet, Mark Davis and Jim Herrington.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Marshall Hodge's memory can be directed towards St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
