Graveside services for Mary Florence Pierce, 97, of Montalba, will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Pierce Family Cemetery, with Bro. Rod Skelton, Rev. Dennis Luton and Rev. Eric Higginbotham officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mary Florence McCloskey Pierce of Montalba, Texas, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born in Dilley, Texas on June 27, 1919, to Edward McCloskey and Mattie Woods McCloskey. Mrs. Pierce was a member of Montalba Christian Church, past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, life member of VFW Auxiliary 3907, DAV Auxiliary, Montalba Red Hat Society, Montalba Quilters, and Anderson County Democratic Women.
Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tommy Pierce, Jr., son Charles Edward Adams, brothers; Norvel James McCloskey, Joseph Wood McCloskey, and sister-in-law Billy Margaret McCloskey. She is survived by her son Joseph Pierce and wife Paula of Montalba, grandsons; John Pierce and wife Deanne of Corpus Christi, Nicolas Adams and wife Lily of Paris, France, Jonathan Therond of Paris, France, granddaughter, Samantha Laurent and husband Justin of Palestine, niece Martha Jan Luton and husband Rev. Dennis Luton of Elgin, nephew Billy James McCloskey of Mathis, great grandchildren; Eva Maria Loras and Kimberly Bounik of France, Kyle Pierce and Kyra Pierce of Corpus Christi, and Wendy Adams and Julian Adams of Paris, France, great nephews Charlie Luton of Elgin and Lt. State Trooper B.J. McCloskey of Austin, great niece Katie Simmons, great great nephew August, and great great nieces Madison and Maggie.
Pallbearers will be John Meyer, Walter Hamil, Clay Hamil and Rodney McGee.
