Rachel's Story

Rachel Gloria Taylor, age 77, of Round Rock, Texas, and formerly of Palestine, Texas, went to her eternal reward with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 10, 2017. Mrs. Taylor passed away in Round Rock, Texas, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Taylor was born on May 18, 1939 in San-Diego, California, where she grew up with her eleven brothers and sisters. She was the ninth child of twelve to the late Aurelio and Christina Caudillo.
Mrs. Taylor was a Christian and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palestine. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a busy lady who loved to cook, crochet, knit, play Bingo, work in her yard and travel.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Aurelio and Christina Caudillo. She was also preceded in death by her late husband of 47 years, Robert Eugene Taylor. They spent their first 18 years in various parts of California, with the remainder of their time spent in Breckenridge, Fairfield, and Palestine, Texas. After her husband's death, Mrs. Taylor spent time in Round Rock, Texas.
Survivors are her four sons, Victor Taylor and wife Laura of Round Rock, Texas, Jeff Taylor, Andy Taylor both of Palestine, Texas, and Ken Taylor and wife Janet of Austin, Texas; one brother, Edward Caudillo of San-Diego, California; two sisters, Isabel Sanchez of Santee, California, and Pearl Cruz of San-Diego, California; six grandchildren, Amanda, Chad, Jeannie, Celsie, Richard, and John David; one great-grandchild, Autumn; and two step-grandchildren, Krystal and Katrina.
A rosary service for Rachel Gloria Taylor will be held in the Rhone Memorial Chapel at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 with a visitation for family and friends to follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass for Mrs. Taylor will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Rajain Mathias officiating. Interment will be at Land of Memory Cemetery in Palestine, Texas. The family will have a reception with a meal at Rhone Funeral Home following the funeral services.
