Robert's Story

Robert D. Roberson passed away April 10, 2017 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Mr. Roberson was born May 23, 1949 in Texas City, TX. to Milton Bing Roberson and Allie Jewel Walters. He served 3 years, (1976-1979) in the U.S. Army as a Private and enjoyed most, the time he spent stationed in Germany. He was very proud to have been able to serve his country and would talk of those memories fondly. After his service he returned to Palestine area where he has spent the majority of his days. The last 5 years he has been a resident of Dogwood Trails Assisted Living and Memory Care in Palestine. He loved being outside, visiting neighbors and drawing charcoal cartoon sketches.
Mr. Roberson was preceded in death by his father Milton B. Roberson, mother Allie Jewell Walters Light, grandfather Joe R. Walters and grandmother Mae Ola Owens. He is survived by his sibilings, Karen Forehand Smith, Jo Sarafis, Cynthia Osborne, Otis Osborne and Charlene Hall and husband Darrell, nieces Chrystal Osborne, Candice Wood and Grace Hall and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to thank everyone at Dogwood Assisted Living for caring for Robert in the special way that you did. You all were a blessing to Robert and to our family.
We welcome friends and family to come help celebrate Robert's life. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Randy Wages at 127 Colley Dr.
