Graveside services for Shirley A. Forest, 80, of Palestine will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Maydelle, Texas under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Rusk, Texas.
Celebration of Life Services will be 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Grace Bible Church, 1390 Gardner Dr. (FM 315), Palestine, Texas with Pastor Dan Gold officiating.
She passed away suddenly October 5, 2017. She was born July 25, 1937 in Texas City, Texas to the late Calvin and Mildred Crawford. She graduated from Texas City High School and went on to work at NASA Space Center in the Education Department and then moved to East Texas to work as a Tax Clerk in the Cherokee County Tax Office in Rusk. She loved spending time with her family and travelling. She will be greatly missed by the many people that knew her and loved her.
She is predeceased by her parents, and brother, Calvin Dwight Crawford. She is survived by her husband Alan Forest, Palestine, children, Denae and David Lee Fountain, Palestine, Robbyn Forest, Candy and Joe Guerra, Dallas, Colleen and Daryle Mullens, Tyler, adopted son, Bill Wilkins, grandchildren, Brendon and Amber Gaige, Jeremy and Melissa Mullens, Mindy Guerra, Scott Mullens, Joseph Guerra, Susej Keith, Jackson Keith, Rachelle Keith, J.T. Keith, Justin Fountain, great-grandchildren, Asher Ace Gaige, Junah Mullens, Charlize Mullens, and Katelyn Guerra.
Pallbearers will be Brendon Gaige, Bill Wilkins, Chris White, Jackson Keith, Brad Parker, Joe Guerra, and Chuck Blalock. The Honorary Pallbearer is J.T. Keith.
Donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Humane Society in her name.
