Services for Steve A. Branson, age 83 of Palestine will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. David English and Rev. Joe Paul Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Judson Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to and provided by Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Branson passed away Monday October 16, 2017 at Trucare Living Center surrounded by all his loved ones. He was born December 7, 1933 in Bethel, Texas to Albert and Jewel Brock Branson. Mr. Branson served as a Deacon at Southside Baptist Church. He was a retired fireman and retired after 37 plus years as a Battalion Chief of the B-crew. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Korea.
Mr. Branson was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Albert Branson, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 53years, Doris Hamby Branson, a son Greg Branson and wife Ashley, one grandson Jacob Branson, brothers, Jerry Branson and wife Laveounia and Jimmy Joe Branson and wife Betty and aunt June Parker.
Palestine firefighters will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Authur Glenn, Skip Whitwell, Wayne Thornton, Mike Daniels, Henry York, Bascom Bentley, Vic Poff, Randall Shoulders, Bobby Crawford, Gerald Morris and Eddie Parker.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, 207 S. Magnolia, Palestine, TX.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to all the Heart to Heart Hospice nurses that helped during this difficult time. Our family sincerely appreciates everything you did to comfort our loved one and the compassion you have shown to the family.
