Wanda's Story

Wanda Elaine Franklin passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Cartmell Home for the Aged in Palestine. She was 84. Mrs. Franklin was born August 14, 1932 in Slocum, Texas to Otto Beauchamp and Hilda Hodges Beauchamp.
Mrs. Franklin loved the Lord above all else and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, United Daughters of the Confederacy, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Sunshine Guild of Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her mother and father, Otto and Hilda Beauchamp; her husband, William Coleman Franklin, and her sister Evaun Keel.
She is survived by one daughter; Judy Franklin of New Mexico, two sons; Terry Franklin and wife Nancy of Palestine, and David Franklin and wife Sheri of Slocum; brother, Odell Beauchamp of Whitewright, Texas; six grandchildren: Jennifer Kennedy, James Franklin, Nathan Franklin, Robert Courville, Deborah Flanagan, and Diana Franklin, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Wayne Franklin, Truman Starr, Louis Johnson, Jonathan Phillips, Robert Kennedy and David Flanagan.
Mrs. Franklin's funeral service will be Monday, October 10, 2016 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel at 10:00 am with Bro. Mike Parker and Bro. Dennis Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Guiceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Hwy 19, in Palestine.
