Wilson Wayne Turbyfill, age 87, of Palestine, took flight from this life and is now in his heavenly home.
Wayne was born on August 27, 1930 in Palestine, Texas and passed away on September 7, 2017 at his home in Palestine.
Wayne lived in Palestine all his life. He graduated Palestine High School in 1949. He then attended Henderson County Junior College, completing two years there and then attended A&M for one year. He then returned home to Palestine to work for his father at Turbyfill Machine Shop.
Wayne served as a Platoon Leader for the National Guard.
Wayne was a great servant of God and was a church deacon for 16 years at Evangelistic Temple in Palestine.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 44 years. Baby daughter Julie Turbyfill Pettiette of Kyle, Texas and Brenda Jenkins Turbyfill and husband Van of Athens, Texas and special sister in law Shirlene Hasty of Corrigan, Texas. Grandchildren Chad Turbyfill of New York, Zachary Pettiette and wife Stephanie of Kyle, Texas, Josh Pettiette and wife Christi of Boerne, Texas, Jeannie Matthews of Athens, Texas, John Turbyfill of Athens, Texas and Teresa Roberts and husband David of Athens, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents E.W. (John) Turbyfill and Eunice Turbyfill of Palestine; his sons Mark Turbyfill, Steven Turbyfill and Rusty Turbyfill and grandson Glenn Turbyfill. Also, his brother Russell Turbyfill of Palestine and sister Lois Leggett of Palestine.
