Memorial services for Winfred "Wimp" McCann, 72 of Elkhart, will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Reeves officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mr. McCann passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at his home. He was born in Palestine, Texas, April 10, 1944. After a short stint in the Houston area, he returned to Palestine in 1978. He worked many years in the oil field, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming, and loved his family dearly.
Mr. McCann was preceded in death by his parents J. A. and Ruby McCann, sister Carolyn Brinkman, brothers Edward McCann, Earnest McCann and Richard McCann. He is survived by his wife Marnet McCann, daughter Kristi Pereira and husband Hermann, sons Kenny McCann and wife Jessica and Steve McCann and wife Debra, sisters; Elouise Ryan, Earlene Newsom, Juanita Cordell, and Patricia Overton, brothers; Bob McCann, Don McCann and Glenn McCann, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
