Services for Wynona (Noncie) Smith, 93 of Palestine will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at the Evangelistic Temple with Rev. Danny Rodriquez officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine City East Hill Cemetery under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born November 8, 1923, in Palestine, Texas to John Henry and Minnie Mae Nash. She graduated from Palestine High School and Nixon Business College. She married the love of her life, William J. (Bill) Smith on September 26, 1947. She worked beside her husband in the local TV cable industry for 25 years as the office manager. She later worked as church secretary at Evangelistic Temple. Joining the church as a child, she was a Charter member of the Evangelistic Temple where she loved to sing in the choir. She loved her grand and great grandchildren, affectionately being called Mimi by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years, Bill; a baby son, Richard; and brothers and sisters, Elsie Worley, Delton Nash, Kathleen Dobby and Ray Nash.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill Dagley and husband David of Palestine, grandchildren Jennifer Huddleston and husband Adam of Canyon and Stephen Dagley and wife Natalie of McKinney; great grandchildren, Noah, Maci, Cody, Sara and Abby Huddleston of Canyon and Ava and Parker Dagley of McKinney; and several nieces and nephews including Jan Worley Lowe of Montalba.
Condolence calls will be received at 2:30pm on Sunday before the funeral service at the Evangelistic Temple.
