Alfred's Story

Alfred Britt Folmar, age 88, of Palestine, went to be with our Loving Savior on Monday, January 30, 2017. He was a resident of TruCare Living Center in Palestine. Mr. Folmar was born on February 5, 1928 in Yantis, Texas to William Schley Folmar and Clarcie Britt Folmar. Mr. Folmar was retired from the Navy and was a World War II, Korean and Vietnam Veteran. He was an independent sales representative for many dental companies. Upon retirement, Mr. Folmar enjoyed many activities, specifically watching and feeding the fish in his pond.
Mr. Folmar was preceded in death by his parents.
Alfred Britt Folmar is survived by his wife, Shirley Carbough Folmar; sons, Ronald Folmar and wife Paula of Palestine, James Folmar and wife Karen of Mt. Selman; step-daughter, Jackie Magill; brother, Efton Folmar and wife Becky; grandson, William Folmar and wife Gabbi.
A private interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Tyler, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross and TruCare Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Palestine, Texas.
