Frances's Story

Frances Anne (Miller) Rhodes went home to be with her Lord on January 14, 2017. She was born in Palestine, Texas on February 9, 1940, to Mildred Thompson Miller and Harry Miller.
She married Harold Dean Rhodes on December 27, 1956. He went into the U.S. Army and she continued her education. Graduating from Palestine High School, she then went to cosmetology school. They moved to Dallas where they lived for many years. She worked as a beautician and had the honor of doing Elizabeth Taylor's hair for a movie she was to be in.
Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold Rhodes of Brushy Creek; daughter, Franka Pyle and husband Raymond of Palestine; her sisters, Adell Kindt and husband Bill of Lawton, Oklahoma and Jean Walding and husband Johnny of Palestine; her brother, John Byrd and wife Paula of Athens; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild all of Palestine; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Pyle, Alex Pyle, Dwayne Walding, Chris Walding, and Gerald Boyd.
Services will be Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Cornerstone Worship Center Church of God, 104 Cedarvale Street, Palestine with Pastor David Malone officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
