Services for Johnnie Rose Salmon age 80 of Palestine will be held at 2:00 P.M Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Memorial Baptist Church in Oakwood with Terry Evans and Forrest Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Palestine.
Mrs. Salmon passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her residence in Palestine. She was born October 13, 1936 in Palestine to George and Gracie Maxwell Honea. Mrs. Salmon was retired from TDCJ where she worked in the mail room.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gracie Honea, a son Jimmy Warren, a great grandson Justin Warren and a brother Bobby Honea. She leaves behind three children, Ray Warren and wife Deede of Oakwood, Jackie Warren of Palestine, and Cheyenne Oakley of Palestine, a daughter-in-law Debbie Warren, two sisters Elva Porter of Palestine, and Beverly Cormier of Tulsa, OK., two brothers George Honea, Jr. and wife Martha of Huntsville, and Cecil Honea and wife Evie of Longview, she is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A special thank you to her granddaughter Leigh Ann Warren for the many hours she spent taking care of her grandmother. Thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of East Texas and the Home Place in Tyler.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to service at Memorial Baptist Church in Oakwood.
