Services for Louis Collins age 83, of Oakwood will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday May 1, 2017 at Memorial Baptist Church in Oakwood with Rev. Walter Pickens officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood City Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Collins passed away Friday April 28, 2017 at Cartmell Home for Aged. He was born February 16, 1934 in Palmer, TX to Oatley and Louella Hancock Collins. He was a carpenter and was retired from Tyler Refrigeration. Mr. Collins shaped many minds of young men to hunt, fish and appreciate God's world. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palmer, TX.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeri Collins, and brothers, J.C. Caldwell, Raymond Caldwell, Oatley L. Collins, Jr. and Bradley Collins. He is survived by his daughters Debbie Stanford and Becky Holiday, and a son, Danny Collins, a brother Weldon Collins, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Autrey, Clint Autrey, Joey Stanford, Louis Collins, Lane Hernandez, Landon Hernandez, Cooper Stanford, Timmy Holiday and Jimmy Holiday.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, 207 S. Magnolia, Palestine, TX. 75801.
