Funeral services for Louise B. Polk, 83, of Palestine are scheduled for 10 am on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Branden Szabo officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Polk entered her heavenly home on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
She was born on September 21, 1933, in Houston, Texas to Austin and Mary Howe Boyett. Mrs. Polk moved to Palestine from the Houston area 30 years ago. She was married to Methodist minister Homer P. Polk and helped support and comfort their church members for many years. She also worked many years as the night receptionist for Herrington Funeral Home. Mrs. Polk loved her Lord and Savior and loved her family. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Polk was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 2 brothers. She is survived by her children - Bo Johnson and R.B. of Cleveland, Danny Polk and wife Wanda of Elkhart, Sharon McGirt of Palestine, and Linda Dry and husband Michael of Palestine; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jarod Johnson, Daniel Polk, Wesley Lewis, Kevin Parker, Brandon Parker, and John Harris.
Visitation for Mrs. Polk will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
