Martin "Scooby" Estrada, 53, returned to his heavenly home on February 7th 2017 after a valiant battle with a long sickness. His devotion to his family and his firm faith in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Martin was born on September 24, 1963 in La Gunillas, Villa Hidalgo SLP. MX. He moved to Palestine Texas in 1978. He worked for several years at Murray's and retired from Bob Mitchell Inc. after 16 years of dedicated service. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church member of Jesus Pan de Vida religious group. He always lended a hand where needed for his church family. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and grandchildren. You could find him any evening sitting in his garage just listening to his religious music. His Favorite sport was baseball.
Martin had such a huge heart, always smiling and always willing to help others. He will forever be remembered for his beautiful soul.
He is survived by his long time sweetheart and wife of 30 years, Maria C Estrada; his children, Sonia Estrada Cornel (Berna), Jesus Estrada and Melissa Estrada; his grandchildren, Natalia, Jennifer, Alexander, Julianna Coronel; Anahi and Sofia Estrada. He is also survived by his parents, Alberto and Eladia Estrada and siblings, Gloria Esparza (Aristeo), Alfredo Estrada (Juana), Carlos Valladares (Martha), Fernando Estrada Sr (Maria), Guadalupe Zavala (Luis), SanJuana Estrada, Grace Mancilla (Antonio), Noemi Estrada, Julia Estrada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by death by his nephews Michael Estrada and Fernando Jr Estrada who he loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Estrada, Berna Cornel, Arturo Elias, Juan Esparza, Carlos Valladares, and Alfredo Estrada Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, February 11th 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Matias Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/ Land of Memory Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 5:30pm Friday, February 10th, at Herrington/ Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matias Rodriguez officiating followed by visitation from 6-8pm.
