Funeral services for Paul Wayne Pearson, 78 of Palestine, will be Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Bailey & Foster Chapel, at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Paul left this earth Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the David E. Foster Hospice Unit/PRMC. He was born September 27, 1938, on the Lou Allen Cotton Plantation in Guntown, Mississippi. He was the first born and only son of Margaret and Albert Pearson. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Paul was a generous and loving son, brother, husband and Papa. His last wish was to see his granddaughter, Sadie Kay, and God granted that wish. Paul was a diesel mechanic by trade and also spent several years as an OTR truck driver. He served in the National Guard and also as Chief Deputy Sheriff, of Anderson County under Roy Herrington. His smile and "I love you hon" will be so missed by his four sisters.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Carol, second wife, Charlotte, daughter, Carolyn Sue Delph, and step-daughter, Brandy Kelly. He is survived by one uncle, Talmadge Hickman (Bettie) Corinth, Mississipi, son, Jamie Pearson, step-son, Mike Smith (Dani), step-daughter, Candace Cotton, grandson, J.R. Pearson, step-grandson, Lucien Smith, granddaughter, Ashton Pearson, step-granddaughters, Katie Kelly, Jenny Cotton, Scarlett and Violet Smith, and the love of his heart, Sadie Kay Cotton. Also surviving Paul are four sisters; Bettie Furman (Eddie), Mackie Cox (Danny), Cindy Moseley (Eric) all of Neches, and Shelah Jorgensen (Ed) of Jacksonville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
