Funeral services for Susan Elizabeth Stuart, 59, of Palestine are scheduled for 3 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phil Chamberlin officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine City Cemetery.
Susan passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
She was born on September 5, 1957, in Cleburne, Texas to Billy M. Stuart and June Elizabeth Wilson Stuart. Susan had lived in Anderson County for 38 years. She loved riding horses and caring for her animals. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, hunting, and fishing and just spending time outdoors and with her family. She also enjoyed painting in her free time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and June Wilson; and a sister, Becky Stuart.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, David Giles of Palestine; sons, Jason Cargill and wife Crystal of Bradford, David Cargill of Palestine, and David Giles, Jr. and wife Laura of Larue; daughters, Christina Couch and husband Mason of Rusk, Crystal Giles of Palestine, and Glenda Michelle of Keachi, LA; brothers, Billy Guy Stuart of Alabama and David L. Stuart of Cleburne; sisters, Misty Brogdon and husband Kenneth of Waco and Lori Lee of Albany, GA; and grandchildren: Richard and wife Meghan, Coy, Trinton, Jayce, Austin, Chloe, Dylan, Alexis, Braiden, Caiden, Payton, Parker, Billy, Brandon, Courtney, Candice, and Brittny; 1 great grandchild, Emori; and numerous other family and friends too many to mention..
Pallbearers will be David Cargill, Jason Cargill, Morgan Fryar, Richard Douglas, Jr. Coy Douglas, Austin Walthall and honorary pallbearer is Mason Couch.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
