Doris  Brede
Doris Fae Huffman Brede, age 98, of Palestine, departed this world for her eternity with Jesus on the 27th day of January 2020, in Palestine, Texas. She was born on the 23rd day of October, 1921, in Anderson County to parents Banks Huffman and Evalina Funderburk Huffman. She married Howard Brede in 1940, and their marriage was blessed with four children. She worked as a cashier at Brookshire's Grocery Store for over 20 years. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Brede; 5 sisters; 1 brother; and 1 great-grandson.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Howell of Ft. Worth, Texas, Julie Spraggins and husband Jerry of Nacogdoches, Texas, Howard Clark "Buddy" Brede and wife Ann of Temple, Oklahoma, Melissa Randle of Palestine, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Doris Brede's life will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning, on Saturday, the 1st day of February, 2020, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Kenn Somerville officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Park in Palestine.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
Those honored to serve as pall bearers are Josh Randle, Jacob Randle, Jerod Spraggins, Wade Robertson, Justin Spraggins, Jason Spraggins, Jerry Spraggins, and Randall Decker. Those honored to serve as honorary pall bearers are Joe Brooks, Larry Chaffins, Rob McClusky, Sonny Guess, Forest Wiggins, and the Fishers of Men Sunday School Class of Southside Baptist Church.
