Services for Edwin "Pete" Robertson, 79, Athens will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Eastern Hills Church of Christ with David Mahan officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Bradford under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens.. Mr. Robertson died Thursday in Tyler.. He was born July 11, 1931 in Troup to the late Henry Dow and Edna Geraldine Thompson Robertson.. Mr. Robertson had been a resident of Athens the past four years. He lived in Georgetown 15 years and was a professor of psychology at San Antonio Junior College. He was a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ. He was featured in the Athens Review for being known as King of Canes. He was a craftsman and built his house in Georgetown. He was an avid fisherman.. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Robertson of Athens; son, Edwin "Eddie" Robertson Jr. and wife Ruth of Tyler; daughter, Kathleen "Katie" Robertson of Athens; grandchildren, Abigail Grace Robertson of Tyler; sister, Peggy Elaine Hickman of Athens; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.. Pallbearers will be Larry Merrifield, Frank Keith, Harley Wright, Billy Locke, Danny Crowell and Alan Ahigrimm. Honorary pallbearers will be W.A. Hickman, Tom R. Walton Jr., Charles Monroe, C.Q. Smith and Carroll Bellah.. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home..
