He was born in Palestine, Texas, at the old Memorial Hospital on September 16, 1975.

He attended Westwood School and Palestine High School.

Frutoso bravely battled liver cancer for over two years before his passing on June 26, 2025. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Viola and Rawleigh Berryhill, Concepcion Quiroga, and Frutoso Moreno Sr.; his aunts, Bonnie Townsend and Velma Bruchmiller; and his uncles, Rawleigh "Buck" Berryhill Jr., Wayne Berryhill, and Sonny Townsend.

He is survived by his child, Nick Moreno; his parents, Thelma Bigham and Frutoso Moreno; his sister, Theresa Cazares; his brother, Mario Moreno; and his uncle, Kenneth Berryhill. He also leaves behind his nieces, Ashley and Makyla Moreno and Freya Sweazey; his nephews, Lorenzo and Raul Cazares, Ashdon, Zachary, Bolton, and Israel Moreno; and his cousins, Marion and Clint Bruchmiller.
