James Albert Carroll, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025 in The Woodlands, Tx surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 1, 1933 in Neches, Tx to Charlie B Carroll and Lennie P Carroll . James Left Neches, in 1953 to join the Army, attending Signal School in Georgia before serving in Korea as a lineman until 1956. After his military service he moved to Houston where he joined Faith Memorial Baptist where he met the love of his life Elna Carroll. They shared 58 beautiful years of marriage. James dedicated his career to public service, working for the city of Houston as a firefighter, rising to the rank of Captain, and later as an instructor at the Houston Fire Academy. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Lennie Carroll, brother David Carroll, sister Charles Carroll, son James R Carroll and Great grandson Colin Field. He is survived by his daughter Debra Jenkins and husband William, son Charles Carroll and wife Donna, his daughter Tammy Samoff and husband Kenneth and son in law Michael Johnson. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. James will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to country and community and the warmth and love he brought to everyone around him. A Celebration of life will be on May 24th at 11:00 am at Corinth Cemetery outside of Crockett Tx.
