Memorial service for James Hedley "Shorty" Eldridge, 84 of Oakwood, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Oakwood Church of Christ, with Randy Foreman officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. Eldridge passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Legacy at Town Creek. He was born March 2, 1934 in Leon County, to Snowdon and Emma Westbrook Eldridge. He was a member of the Oakwood Church of Christ, and served in the US Army. He retired from the oilfield industry, and then worked for Carter Ranch as a yard keeper.

Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Neta Holloway Eldridge, daughter Robin Lipsey and husband Larry, son James Robert Eldridge and wife Laura, grandchildren; Erica Eldridge, Paige Eldridge, Travis Eldridge, Pete Lipsey, and Faith Lipsey, great grandchildren; Jadon Kemp, Reid Kemp and Lauttyn Guitterez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Eldridge, Pete Lipsey, Reid Kemp, Jadon Kemp, Mike Dison, and Brent Bing.

Condolence calls will be received thirty minutes prior to service time at the church.
