Joe Hilton Loving, Jr. Obituary

Palestine, Texas - Joe Hilton Loving, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2025. He was 89 years old. A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas, on June 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tony Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. before the service at the church.

Donations in his memory can be made to the First Baptist Church of Palestine building fund or The Gideons International.

If you knew Joe, you knew he was a man of profound faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout his life he showed what it truly means to "trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Even after suffering a debilitating stroke, Joe's faith remained steadfast as he reassured his family by saying, "Trust Jesus, don't worry about it." He will be remembered as a man of honor and integrity who sought to honor God in all he did.

Joe Hilton Loving, Jr. was born on December 12, 1935, in Dallas, Texas to Joe Hilton Loving Sr, and Lola Loving. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary; daughters Donna Tolan, Sheryl Davis, and Kimberly Cole; Sons-in-law Dan Tolan, Mike Davis, and Keith Cole; Grandchildren Chase and Cort Davis, Laura and Leah Tolan, Mary Caroline and Claire Cole; great grandchildren Weston, Nolan and Camden Davis; brothers Kelly and Lloyd Loving; and sister Mary Jo Davis.

He is predeceased by his parents, and sister, Jacqueline Powell.
